Magaldi Technologies LLC, a subsidiary of Magaldi Power S.p.A., has an exciting opportunity for a Service Engineer who would be responsible for helping grow the service activities and parts sales throughout North America. To accomplish these goals, the Aftermarket Service Engineer would be responsible for making periodic and scheduled visits to customers to check the performance of the installed equipment, support the customers via email and phone calls, identify any new business opportunities, and monitor the level of customer satisfaction about company products and services.
To be successful in this role, the individual must be capable of performing independently, able to think under pressure, be customer-focused, self-motivated, organized, enjoy problem-solving and not be afraid to get their hands dirty. The Service Engineer may work alone or as a leader/consultant with a work crew of customer or contractor technicians.
Position Title: Aftermarket Service and Installation Technician
Reporting To: Service Manager
Direct Reports: None
Experience: 5+ years in industrial installation, commissioning, maintenance, installation supervision, and service. The ideal candidate will have foundry and/or power plant experience. Military service will be considered an asset. Strong mechanical aptitude is a must; electrical/instrumentation experience will be a benefit.
Degree Required: Technical associate degree is preferred and/or equivalent experience.
CAD Capabilities: AutoCAD knowledge and ability preferred. Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Software: OFFICE 365, SAP, Lotus Notes knowledge and ability preferred. Must be able to use Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
Travel: Approximately 70-80%
Location: Atlanta, GA, or home office.
Language Requirements: English fluency is required. Spanish ability preferred.
Work Hours: Normal hours of operation in most cases, but may, in rare cases, require off-shift and weekend support and to help the team to respond to emergency service, installation, commissioning, and spare parts requests for customers that operate 24/7 operations.
Salary Expectations: $50,000 to $70,000 based on experience with potential for up to 10% bonus based on A) installation success B) service budget goals C) client satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Company Policies: Rigorous compliance and implementation of the processes, procedures, directives, and company policies.
- Maintenance Recommendations & Supervision: Customer equipment and spare parts review, recommendation, and field maintenance supervision.
- Field Installation Supervision: Supervision of new equipment installations and commissioning through plant personnel and field contractors (leadership skills).
- Service Reporting & Documentation: Proper documentation of customer problems along with matching service and spare parts recommendations.
- Aftermarket Sales: Responsible to promote aftermarket service and spare parts.
- Responsible for all Aftermarket opportunities: implementing the related proposal and carrying out the negotiation with the customer up to the acquisition of the Purchase Order. Ensuring that the customer’s PO complies with Magaldi Technologies Proposal.
- Project Manager Support: Assist the Project Manager during the Job’s execution including turn-key projects.
- Warehouse Support: Assist in shipping and receiving when needed.
- Budgeting: Assist the Aftermarket Service Manager during the preparation of the annual budget for spare parts and services. Responsible for the annual assigned budget and for periodically updating the forecast.
- Scheduling: Help the Aftermarket Service Manager maintain and execute a proper service schedule.
- Customer Satisfaction: Ensure that customers throughout North America are happy with their Magaldi-supplied equipment and that it is running to its optimal level through proactive visits and regular communication.
- Safety: Ensure that all activities are within full compliance of Magaldi, our customers, and all local, state, and national EH&S standards.
- Troubleshooting: Be the local technical service expert when it comes to diagnosing faults, repairing equipment, and recommending preventative maintenance.
- Travel: Be responsible when making all travel arrangements, including airfare, hotels, and rental vehicles required for business travel. Some international travel will be required. Adhere to all Magaldi travel policies. Prepare monthly company expense reports and expense summaries for customer invoices.
