Title: Mechanical Supervisor
Location: Italian and foreign construction sites
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the proper execution of assembly and installation of machines and equipment under the project requirements and within the scheduled timelines.
- Conduct inspections in the workshop, upon completion of machine fabrication, or on-site, upon completion of assembly activities.
- Coordinate the teamwork (always referring exclusively to their foremen) whether the activities are performed directly or subcontracted, ensuring the correct execution of assembly, installation, and commissioning of machines and plants.
- Verify that the installation activities are carried out according to the provided instructions and methods to ensure the required level of quality. Generally, the Mechanical Supervisor does not perform direct activities but monitors the outcome of the work executed by the assembly workers. However, during the project, both during the assembly and start-up phases, he may occasionally carry out brief adjustment activities using hand or power tools.
- Define the correct assembly sequences, identify potential critical issues, and implement necessary corrective actions to ensure the proper installation and commissioning of machines within the set deadlines.
- define small adjustment and modification interventions needed to resolve interferences or other on-site issues. In this regard, he must interface with technical offices and, in the case of significant modifications to what was produced, provide technical offices with information to align engineering with what was achieved on site.
- Adjust the drawings or specifications based on what was accomplished on site.
- Ensure that the work execution complies with the project specifications and established standards and adheres to the Quality Control Plan for assemblies.
- Verify the implementation of HSE specifications and report all possible anomalies.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on the activities carried out on site.
- Coordinate with various functions for the opening, management, and resolution of non-conformities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Industrial Engineering and/or Electrical/Electronic Engineering (preferred qualification)
- Previous experience in the role within structured industrial contexts
- Availability to work in shifts
- Availability to travel for more than 50% of the time
- Knowledge of MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Project)
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Perfect knowledge of the Italian language
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English
- Leadership and team management skills
- Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
ADDITIONALLY PREFERRED
- Flexibility and adaptability, good problem-solving skills, and good relational skills
- Preferable knowledge of mechanical drawing and electrical diagrams
- Knowledge of an additional foreign language (particularly Spanish or German) is a preferred qualification
